Chandra Fontenot Broomfield is Director of the Department of Therapeutic Recreation.
Chandra graduated from the University of Southern Miss in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation and received a Master of Arts degree from Liberty University in Health and Wellness. She was hired on as the Special Services Coordinator following a clinical internship with the VA Medical Center in Biloxi.
In March of 2015, Fontenot was promoted to the Director of Therapeutic Recreation.
In addition to educational and professional certifications, Fontenot has been recognized by her peers as the Mississippi Recreation and Park Association’s (MRPA) Recreation Therapist of the Year (2008) as well as the Recreation Professional of the Year in 2014. She has served on the board of Directors for MRPA for the last 3 years and currently serves as the President.
