The Department of Finance and Administration is responsible for all accounting, purchasing, vendor payments, information systems, debt management, human resources, investments, court services and administration functions of the City.
The City of Clinton's ad valorem tax rate is 41.49 mills. Property taxes are the principal source of General Fund revenues and represent approximately 55% of total revenues. Sales taxes represent approximately 35% of total General Fund income.
Our goals are to responsibly spend your tax dollars, enable both industrial and retail development, establish a positive revenue to expenditure growth ratio, and end 2017 with a $500,000 ending fund balance while addressing the responsibilities of the City.
